First Time Homebuyer Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance Program
Achieving the Dream
The First Time Homebuyer Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance Program helps low to moderate income individuals and families achieve the American Dream of owning a home. It is often difficult for potential homeowners to come up with enough money for a down payment or closing costs on the house they want to purchase. With this program, the Housing Authority will match up to 50% of the total down payment/closing costs not to exceed $5,000.
After you found your home that you want to purchase contact the Resident Initiatives Department to schedule an appointment for Pre-Purchase Homeownership Counseling.
If qualified the Housing Authority will match the money you've saved to close on your new home up to $5,000 or half of your closing costs. 1% of your contribution must be from you, but the rest could be a gift. Money must be available at the time of closing.
