Emergency Repair Program

The Emergency Repair Program is to provide safe, decent, and sanitary housing for very low, low, and moderate income homeowners. This is accomplished by repairing and/or replacing any/all items in the home that are a threat to life, health, and/or safety to the homeowner.

Eligible Homeowners

Elderly (age 62 and older) and/or disabled homeowners

  1. Families with young children (under age 12)

  2. Very low-income households (at or below 30% of Area Median Income)

  3. All other eligible applicants

Total gross household income may not exceed 80% of Area Median Income (AMI). Income eligibility is determined based on the guidelines in effect at the time of application. Income thresholds are updated annually.


Eligible Emergency Repairs

Emergency assistance is limited to conditions that pose an immediate threat to life, health, or safety and are not the result of routine maintenance issues or homeowner neglect. Eligible emergency repairs may include, but are not limited to:

  • Furnace replacement

  • Electrical system repairs

  • Hot water tank replacement

  • Structural damage repairs

  • Sewer, soil, water, or gas line replacement
