The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Butler

The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Butler was created by resolution of the Board of County Commissioners on November 29, 1966 and organized under the provisions of the Urban Redevelopment Law of 1945 by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Redevelopment Authority exists and operates for the purposes of the elimination of blighted areas through economically and socially sound redevelopment of such areas in conformity with the comprehensive general plan of municipalities.

Blight Mitigation Program

The Butler County Blight Mitigation Initiative (BCBMI) is a comprehensive multi-pronged approach to create stronger and more secure quality of life, thus creating attractive places to live by eliminating dangerous sub-standard housing.

The Emergency Repair Program makes funds available to homeowners in Butler County to assist in addressing Health, Life, and Safety Issues.

Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program

Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Program funding may be used for a variety of improvements to your home including: windows, roofing, electric, plumbing, heating, and obvious structural defects.
